2020 Season Events

We've had quite a few campers contact us, because they are excited to see the events we have planned for the 2020 Season.  Here's a rough draft.  It looks like it's going to be a fun summer.  We've kept your favorites and added a few new ones that should help us celebrate the summer. Hopefully the list will help with any winter blues. :)

May
Saturday, May 16th

  • Plant 2 Trees (10:00 am) – We'll be having our annual tree contest.  In The Pines Seasonal Camp-Resort will be donating trees to two of our In The Pines campsites.  If you would like to have a tree planted, please email your name to In The Pines and we'll add you to our tree drawing.  If we draw your name you may choose your tree from a selection of trees we have for you.  On May 16th we'll invite all the camp kiddos to help us plant your new tree.  In The Pines will keep it watered for you for its first growing season.  The kids always enjoy getting their hands dirty rain or shine.
  • Nature Activity – We’ll be doing a nature activity in the Party Barn with the camp kids.  More information will be announced about this class at a later date.
  • Movie Night (7 pm) – Fly Away Home will be our featured movie to celebrate some of Earth’s creatures. After Amy (Anna Paquin) loses her mother in a car accident, she must uproot her life and move to Canada to live with her father, Thomas, (Jeff Daniels), an oddball inventor with whom she has no relationship. She initially struggles to find her place in her new home, but things change when she stumbles upon a collection of abandoned goose eggs. When the eggs hatch, Amy and her dad work together teaching the motherless birds to fly south for the winter, and their relationship blooms.

Friday, May 22nd

  • Tiki Bar Opens (6 pm) - The Tiki Bar opens up for the summer on Friday night, and will be open Saturday morning at 10 am for our Bloody Mary Bar.  Tiki hours for holiday weekends are Friday 6-close.  Saturday and Sunday at 10 am for Bloody Mary Bar.  Close from 2-6 pm if slow.  Open at 6 pm until close.  On non-holiday weekends we'll be closed on Sunday.

Saturday, May 23rd

  • Memorial Day Weekend (1:00 pm) - Bocce Ball Tournament.  This was super fun last year!  $5 to enter.  Sign-up with Maria by Wednesday May 20th.  Arrive 15 min. prior to tournament.  Teams picked upon arrival.

June

Saturday, June 6th

  • Nature Class and Touch Tables (10 am) – More on this class will be announced at a later date.
  • Plant Pumpkins – Help us plant pumpkins to be harvested in the fall for the End-Of-Season Kids Party.  We'll pick the pumpkins in September for some fun pumpkin painting at the party celebrating our camp kids.  Your kids will be able to see the process a pumpkin takes from beginning to end.
  • Sign Party (6:30 pm) - This is a new event where our campers will be able to make their own signs.  More info on this event coming soon.

Saturday, June 13th

  • Smoker’s Weekend (Meat & Treat Sharing Time at 4:00 pm) – We’ve had some requests to bring this back.  This may be the last year we’ll be having this event so if you want to join in for the scrumptious fun, then this is the year to do so.  Rules… Everyone that wants to enter can smoke some meat at their campsite.  If you prefer dessert? You can make a sweet treat instead.  Rules for making dessert… You must make your dessert on the grill, and no pudgy pie irons allowed (too easy).  After the cooking is all done, we'll share the tasty food with each other.  We'll again have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize.  Meet at the Tiki Bar by 4 pm.  No entries allowed after 4 pm.
  • Card’s Night (7-10 pm) – The Party Barn will be open, and tables will be set up for a card game of your choosing.  Bring a deck of cards and your fellow camp friends.  Should be a fun night of games.

Saturday, June 27th

  • Kite / Drone Fest (10 am) – Celebrating our 5th annual Kite Fest.  Let’s go fly a kite!  Bring your own kites and join us in our camp kite fest.  If the winds won’t cooperate, and you have a drone, just fly that instead.  This is a beautiful event to see when our camp skies are full of colorful kites.
  • Kid’s Craft (10 am) - We’ll be celebrating Kite Fest by honoring our flying friends.  Our camp kids will get the opportunity to make natural bird feeders to hang in their sites.  This is a great craft for our camp kids to get in touch with nature’s flyers.
  • Movie Night (7pm) – We’ll be celebrating the skies with the movie Abominable. After discovering a Yeti on the roof of her apartment building, teenage Yi and her two friends embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family. But to do so, they must stay one step ahead of a wealthy financier and a determined zoologist who want to capture the beast for their own gain.

Saturday, July 4th

  • 4th of July Parade (11:00 am) - Celebrate our Country's Independence Day with our 4th of July bike, ATV and golf cart parade.  You can either join the parade or watch from your campsite. The parade starts at 11 am at the Tiki Bar.  This is always a very fun event!
  • Bags Tournament (1:00 pm) - Bags Tournament near the Tiki Bar.  Sign up with Maria.  If it rains, we'll be in the Party Barn.  Teams will be picked upon arrival.  Please be there 15 min. prior.

Saturday, July 25th

  • Christmas in July (11:00 am) - We'll have stocking decorating for the kids and campsite decorating for adults.  You may decorate your sites at any time the week before this event. Driving around the Campground at night with the beautiful lights is quite magical on a hot summer night.
  • Snowball Fight (Following the stocking decorating) - These snowballs will make your kiddos very, very wet!!  Volunteers to create snowballs welcome.  We had over 1,500 of them last year, and it was so much fun!
  • Santa (4 pm) - Santa will deliver the decorated stockings to the kids in the evening.
  • Outdoor Movie (7 pm) - We'll be playing a Christmas movie of course.  Our featured film will be Arthur’s Christmas.  Everyone knows that, each Christmas, Santa Claus delivers presents to every last child on Earth. What everyone doesn't know is that Santa accomplishes the feat with a very high-tech operation beneath the North Pole. But when the unthinkable happens, and Santa misses one child out of hundreds of millions, someone has to save the day. It's up to Arthur (James McAvoy), Santa's youngest son, to deliver a present to the forgotten tyke before Christmas morning dawns. We will have chairs and popcorn.  Bring other treats and beverages.

Camp Calendar of Events!!

We love to have events at In The Pines Seasonal Camp-Resort!!  We  have a great building to have all sorts of events rain or shine.

We will again be focusing on nature-based activities for the kids.  We  know what it's like to have your kiddo driving you a bit stir crazy as they ask for something to do.  We plan to help you burn some of that energy they have.  They may even learn something too.  We'll be having nature activities for all the camp kids this summer.  They will get some environmental education while they camp at In The Pines.  Don't worry though... We won't mention to them that it's educational. ;)

These events are for In The Pines campers and their guests only.  To view more great photos of our events, please click on our Blog at the top of the page.  (The blog will be updated soon)
